The owners wanted a user-friendly, striking space that would complement the entire home renovation project. Practicality and clever storage were a must for the busy family of six. For the cabinetry, blackwood timber veneer was custom-made to create a ‘broken up’ effect. Deep timber tones create a daring contrast to the white surroundings, providing the awe-inspiring impact the owners wanted. The horizontal grain and long handles elongate the space. Stretching a glorious four metres, the matt black island is chunky and bold, enhancing the kitchen’s overall modern and raw feel.
It also provides generous work space and storage. Throughout the design, dynamic elements generate a beautifully functional kitchen; Blum SERVO-DRIVE provides hands-free access to storage, and the Abey mixer tap changes the colour of the water according to its temperature, which is a perfect solution for keeping kids safe. The result is a family kitchen that strikes the perfect balance between handsome looks and high functionality.
